Anker%C2%AE Output Simul Port Charger Built
I have been using this charger to charge my Galaxy Nexus smartphone, and it can charge the phone even when the GPS is in use. My old car charger would not provide enough power to charge the battery while the phone was running a GPS app, so the battery would still drain slowly. This is not a problem with the Anker charger. My Galaxy Nexus indicates that it is charging in AC mode, which means it is getting full power (instead of the limited 0.5A in USB mode).
The other benefit of the Anker charger is that you can plug in two devices at the same time. I successfully tried to charge my Galaxy Nexus alongside a Sansa Clip MP3 player, and both charged fine.
I gave this product 5 stars because it works perfectly with my phone, and has the benefit of being able to charge your passenger's phone at the same time. One thing to take note of is that the indicator light on my charger was really bright. If you have sensitive eyes, I'd recommend putting a bit of tape over the indicator light to dim it a little.
UPDATE 2/12/2013: Since my initial review, I was able to try an updated version of this charger with a slightly modified indicator LED light. The brightness of the light is now much more pleasing to the eyes, and I would recommend this product without reservations.
I don't know if it's just me, although I doubt it, but I constantly rely on my iPhone at college. All day it is in use, and needless to say that means my battery drains quite fast. I was looking for a good car charger and ended up with this one, all I have to say is that it is amazing! It can charge two things at once and works on both Apple devices and anything else you can think of pretty much. I am very happy with this product.
BalasHapusFrom the reviews I got the impression that this would charge the Android phones at 1A (AC mode charging displayed on screen). Unfortunately it turned out to be a false assumption as my phone shows to be charging in USB mode which means it is drawing only 0.5A which ultimately means my battery will drain even if I connect it to this little gadget when Navigation and screen is on. Now I have to go through all the hassle of cutting the USB cable and shorting Data cables. Why can't you at least short one of the USB sockets so I didn't have to go through this trouble.
BalasHapusEdit: Surprisingly, the manufacturer got in contact with me after seeing the review (I didn't try to contact them at all). They sent me a cable that I can use with my Galaxy Nexus so that it will charge in AC mode using this adapter. It all works fine now. While the product needs this cable to work as desired the company's attitude was just great so I had to make it 5 stars. Now I feel mcuh more secure knowing that the company is behind the product for sure.

BalasHapusThe replacement they sent me has been working reliably. It chargers my phone rather quickly (compared to my generic car charger that only allowed a net slower discharge and didn't actually charge my phone). the second usb port also is very handy when others want to charge their devices.
Past Review: (about 2-3 weeks before the current update)
Initially, I was able to charge my phone from about 80-94% in a short 10 minute trip. But the second time I plugged this product in (this was all today), my girlfriend said she smelled a burnt smell and the product refused to charge my phone or to light up the LED indicator. extremely disappointed with this product, as I was looking for a alternative from my cheaper car charger that's already breaking.

It gives very fast charging time, I think because of 3.1A

This charger is pretty cool.
BalasHapusI like the blue power light it helps me find stuff in my center console.
This little thing doesn't look cheap, it has that nice quality feel I also like the fact that you can change the the fuse inside just in case you F it up lol.
Also, don't be scared on the cable wire! My sprint OEM charger has a thicker cable wire but I have to tell you that I pulled, tug and pulled the cable wires on this thing but its still working like new!
Kicker is even your android phone is plugged in and charging, YOU CAN STILL USE THE USB!
This means you can CHARGE 2 DEVICES AT THE SAME TIME! just get the right cable and plug it in! I charge my GOpro here my Zune my video cam and sometimes my girfriends Iphone. (pff!)
I'd recommend this product to anyone that's always on the go, specially if you have a girlfriend that has a freakin Iphone lol!
It's just simply another great product made by ANKER.
I am no stranger to this type of product. Over the years I have owned many chargers like this one, and I have to say that this is the most ruggedly built and sturdy design of them all. I also very much love the extra USB port for charging this makes it perfect for travel charging my phone as well as my ipod or my co-workers iphone. In short I would recommended this product as well as purchase it again.
BalasHapusI got this charger because I spend a lot of time in the car and use Bluetooth and GPS on my iphone regularly which isn't great for the battery. I have tried other chargers in the past but they never seemed to last very long and didn't charge my phone well (in one case the charger wouldn't even maintain the battery level). This charger appealed to me because I can use any USB charging cable with it which allows me to charge my phone, my ipad, my wife's phone or my Anker external battery pack. I can charge 2 devices at the same time when necessary and the charge rate is superior to any others I've tried.
BalasHapusThe device looks nice too. I know appeal doesn't improve performance, but if it's visible, I want it to look nice. The glossy black finish is very attractive and the blue indicator light is diffused enough that it's useful and not distracting. I actually abandoned a previous charger due to it's harsh, overly bright red indicator light (in addition to poor performance).
There are car chargers galore to choose from. Some much cheaper and some much more expensive than this Anker product. It's hard to know which one to choose, but after several attempts, I've found it! Save your money if you're considering a higher priced one and save your time if you're considering a cheap one. This device performs the way it should and looks nice to boot. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a durable and versatile car charger that performs well consistently. And with the USB and micro-USB ports, it will charge just about any modern device.
Samsung galaxy note has a 2500mAh battery that lasts about an hour in navigation, indicating that navigation consumes 2500mAh / 1h = 2.5A. It backs up the fact that the 2.1A charger I bought earlier couldn't charge up my phone in navigation. This is the only one I found that could, theoretically and practically.
